Makiro Hill Girls’ Vocational Secondary School, popularly known as MakHill Girls School, is a Catholic-founded girls’ vocational secondary school under the proprietorship of the Registered Trustees of Kabale Diocese. The school is dedicated to the holistic formation of the girl child through the integration of academic excellence, vocational skills training, and strong Christian values.
Located in Kanungu District, Uganda, the school offers both Ordinary and Advanced Level education in Day and Boarding sections. It is fully registered with the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) under code UVQF/2112, affirming its mandate to provide quality vocational education alongside the national secondary curriculum.
Founded in 2003 by Fr. Christopher Busingye, Makiro Hill Girls’ Vocational Secondary School was established with the purpose of providing holistic education and practical skills training to the girl child. Over the years, the school has grown into a fully recognized vocational and academic institution, registered with the relevant education authorities, and is currently under the management of the Sisters of Our Lady of Good Counsel, who continue to uphold its mission of academic excellence, vocational competence, and strong Christian formation.
